Kentucky NORML at the Alternative Products Expo – Nashville Recap
Last week, June 19–21, Kentucky NORML hit the road for a three-day stop at the Alternative Products Expo at The Fairgrounds in Nashville—and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
As solo vendors at the event, we set up shop with a booth full of fundraising items generously donated by supporters, along with materials highlighting our upcoming Patient Registration Fairs across Kentucky. Whether attendees were curious about medical cannabis access, wondering about the rollout of Kentucky’s program, or just stopping by to say hello—we stayed busy and had some incredible conversations.
Deputy Director Lauren Bratcher with member Ryan Carlisle,
Attendance was strong, the energy was high, and the variety of exhibitors on display showed just how much the alternative products space continues to evolve. One standout for us was Kentucky-based brand Copoeia, whose product lineup drew a lot of interest (ours included). We also had the pleasure of connecting with the Tennessee Growers Coalition—our hemp nonprofit counterparts across state lines—and we’re looking forward to exploring some collaborative opportunities that came out of those chats.
Most importantly, we were able to do what we do best: educate. We helped attendees understand the current status of Kentucky’s medical cannabis program, what patients need to do to get registered, and why advocacy is still vital at every stage of this rollout. Conversations with vendors and consumers alike revealed just how hungry people are for information and connection—and that’s what keeps us going.
We’re grateful to the organizers of the Alternative Products Expo and to everyone who stopped by the Kentucky NORML booth. Your support, questions, and curiosity fuel the mission.
